For every football team that moves to Los Angeles, there is an equal and opposite yahoo who loses their favorite parking lot for hooning.

I was checking out the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on Google Maps and was impressed by the sheer size of the old racetrack’s lot. I had a feeling if I zoomed in... ah yes, there we go.

I can’t find an open parking lot that isn’t littered with light posts within 30 moles of my house. Very sad.

There’s something stranger going on here... In my version, I see cones all over the place, like it is a driver training or autocross course.

Or you could, y’know, run Autocross with the clubs located around St. Louis, Oakland, and San Diego. Or run at the racetracks located within a couple hours of each city.

If I pan around, I see many more sections of these cones...

Here’s a zoom on the cones (near-4K resolution images apparently don’t work so well with Kinja):

Looks like autocross to me, I wonder how long they were able to use the lot after the track shut down.

There’s really no loss...I mean, stadium lots can get rented out for autocross. My local SCCA runs its autox in the parking lot of Ralph Wilson Stadium

I never said it was a loss. I was just pointing out what I saw in my version of the aerial photos of the ground there.

Moles or miles, either one.

I don’t suppose there’s any chance that was the course used on an episode of Roadkill?

Actually, that’s a possibility. It’s in their neighborhood.

I heard “old racetrack” and my heart dropped before I learned it was for horses.

Never mind, then. Not enough horses ran there. We need at least four-digits’ worth, folks. Shoot, a Trabi race could beat that.

I would have been much less cavalier in describing it had it been for cars!
